Hyaluronic Acid is a key component of collagen, the substance responsible for holding the body together. It is vital to the healthh and integrity of your skin. Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring element in human connective tissue that can be described as a “space filler,” as it provides the moisture filled cushioning between our cells. The main function of Hyaluronic acid is to keep the skin moist, supple and soft. Unfortunately, Hyaluronic Acid levels decrease as we age. It has been scientifically proven to support skin renewal by greatly increasing the retention of water due to its ability to attract and bind thousands of times its weight in water. Revered as an outstanding moisturizer, Hyaluronic Acid has been used safely and effectively for years to replenish the skin’s levels. It can be used for skin that is very dry, chapped and dehydrated. Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate) is a component of vitamin A and palmitic acid, an ingredient which helps moisture to penetrate more easily. It has a molecular structure that’s tiny enough to get into the lower layers of skin, where it finds collagen and elastin. It improves mottled pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture, skin tone and color, and the skin’s hydration levels. It is widely accepted that Retinyl Palmitate will improve the texture of oily and acne skin and aid in the removal of dead cells. Retinyl Palmitate is an ester of retinol. Retinol will do on a lesser scale what Retin-A does; i.e. reduce fine lines, renew the skin’s “glow” and stimulate cells that make skin-supporting collagen and elastin – without the redness, flaking, and irritation of stronger Retin-A products. L-Carnosine is a dipeptide of the amino acids beta-Alanine and l-Histamine. L-Carnosine is naturally present in the human body, hoowever its level declines as we age. L-Carnosine prevents skin collagen cross-linking, which leads to loss of elasticity and wrinkles. As a potent antioxidant, l-Carnosine effectively quenches the most destructive of free radicals, the hydroxyl radical, as well as super oxide, singlet oxygen and the peroxyl radical. Horsetail Extract
Horsetail Extract’s healing properties, known since ancient Roman times, are from its high content of vegetal silica, which has a softening and smoothing effect on the skin. Centella Asiatica Extract
Centella Asiatica Extract has antibacterial, anti-psoriatic and wound-healing properties. It contains compounds that exert a balancing effect on connective tissue with improved function and integrity of the collagen matrix. It also prevents or limits the shrinkage and swelling of the skin caused by infection and inhibits scar formation, increasing healing and reducing fibrosis.
PABA
PABA (Para-amino benzoic acid) is crucial to the body’s production of important vitamins such as folic acid, K, and B1. Our PABA is natural, and does not cause the skin reactions associated with the synthetic form.
Vegetable glycerin
Vegetable glycerin helps maintain the water balance in the intercellular matrix of the skin and in so doing, maintains the skin’s homeostasis. Glycerin helps other lipids to perform their work more effectively.
